Exciting day!

Time will tell if today is a new and exciting change in my life.  I interviewed for a part time secretary job at Social Services in Beach. I think the interview went well. They said they should know something in a day or two.  My dear friend, Joy, also interviewed today for a new job.  She has already heard that she got the job. So exciting for her, she will be making double of what she makes at school.  She will be missed very much at school.

Now to pray that God has the right plans for me.

Jim's birthday

Sunday, March 9th we celebrated Jim's 49th birthday. Denise, Brian, Brody, Michelle, Joey, Patty, Kelly, and I took Jim to Pizza Ranch for lunch. One of his favorite places. Kelly and I made cupcakes for dessert, which Brody loved so much!

Patty, Kelly, Jim and I went to the cemetery to visit Ted and Evelyn's graves. They celebrated their birthday's on March 8th. I always loved when Jim's mom told the story of her in labor with Jim.  St. Joe's hospital was still ran mainly by the nuns.  She told me the nuns would be running up and down the hallway saying, "We are having triplets!" But Jim waited for his own birthday.

Happy Birthday to my love!
Papa & Brody do everything the same!

Brody insisted on wearing Aunt Patty's glasses.

Happy Birthday Papa!
Happy Birthday, Jim, I love you!

February

Gee, I missed the whole month of February.

February was a pretty great month. On February 6 Jim and I flew to Wendover, NV with Don and Jolene. We had a great mini vacation. We didn't have much luck at the machines, but it sure was nice to get away for a few days.  Jim got to visit with a couple of his classmates that he hasn't seen in years. One gal has invited us to spend a weekend at her cabin in the Black Hills. We are so going to take her up on that this fall. We are thankful for great friends and Kelly being able to take care of our pets while we were gone.

The cold  temperatures continued most of the month. We are all looking forward to spring arriving.

Basketball games have came to an end in February. Now our junior class prepares for prom! Prom will be April 12. Always a good time.

Michelle and Joey purchased their first home! I finally got to go see it on the 22nd.  Michelle had a nice little party that I attended. It was a fun day. Took Kelly out to lunch and the other kids out to supper. I hung around Bismarck until Kelly was done with work and then we went to Perkins for pie! I sure love visiting the kids. Denise said Brody was so mad the next day when he woke up, because grandma wasn't there. I need to go spend a couple days and spoil him.

Tired Sunday

Jim and I attended church this morning. After church our WELCA group met. Started planning for Lenten services and our church will host the spring cluster meeting in April.  Sure was hard to find a date to work with everyone. Hopefully the date we picked will be free with pastor. Once home Jim napped and I sorted through Michelle and Joey's wedding pictures. Put a few on a flash drive that I want to print. Judy Scheiffer and I are going to Dickinson for supper. So I will print off some pictures; I'm excited to get them into the frame and hung in the hallway. Other than church and a date for supper I haven't done a thing, even kind of slept through the football game.

Yo-Yo weather

This has been called the year of the Yo-Yo. The weather has just been crazy this winter. One day upper 30's the next wind chills of -40. I don't recall ever having such bi-polar weather.  Everyone seems to be battling colds and I say it is due to the changes in weather. Yesterday we had winds around 50 MPH all day long across the whole state. The western half was lucky that the snow was crusted over, so we didn't experience blizzard like conditions like the eastern part of the state. Heard many reports of damage from Minot to Bismarck, roofs blown off of apartments to bill boards blown over.

Mother Nature I wish you would find a happy spot to leave us.

Windy

The weather over the last few days has been wonderful! Mid 30's and little wind. Woke up this morning to a wind advisory. By 3:00 PM the wind was starting to pick up. It is pretty windy this evening. The wind advisory is in affect until Tuesday morning.  As long as it doesn't get to chilly I will be fine. That week of below zero was crazy.

Busy Week

My very busy week has came to a close! Three home basketball games and a church annual meeting complete.

The games went very well - last night the girls played New Town and I swear 90% of Beach was at the game and 50% of New Town must have been there.  We ran out of almost all of our beverages last night. We went through a roaster and half of taco meat 60 pretzels and 7 pizzas last night. Crazy busy.

Annual meeting at church went well. Nothing major planned for 2014.  2013 the church seen many improvements.  The basement is about complete in a makeover. New carpet and paint job. Everything is looking bright and clean. The office purchased a new color copier - it's funny how happy that makes me! It prints so nice and clear and much faster than the last one.  Jim and I were elected to the church conference this year.  It will be in June at Bismarck. Will hopefully have time to see Brody and play with him. Might take the church up on a hotel and have Brody come swimming!

Hoping for sleep tonight after the very busy weekend and need to be ready to face a new week of work!
Peace to all
